Now Seeking Nominations for 2012 HIT Awards!

The TORCH Foundation is seeking nominations for the 2012 Rural Hospital Information Technology Conference (HITCON) & Exhibition, HIT Awards. This year HITCON will be at the Omni Hotel Colonnade, San Antonio scheduled for October 17-18, 2012.

Three awards will be presented during the HITCON Awards Luncheon on Wednesday, October 17. If you know of a rural/community Texas hospital, person at one of those facilities, or consortium/rural health IT network deserving of any of these awards, we are now accepting nominations. This is a great opportunity to showcase your facility and staff and get the well-deserved recognition for your accomplishments. For details, see the award descriptions below and the attached nomination forms. Please submit all nominations by October 5!

2012 Rural Hospital IT Award of Excellence
Award recognizing a rural or community Texas healthcare facility that has successfully adopted or is currently implementing an EHR system, and has made significant progress towards achieving MU leading to improved patient care.

2012 Rural Health IT Leadership Award
Award recognizing an individual who has demonstrated outstanding leadership and dedication to the advancement and adoption of health information technology in his/her facility and progress towards meeting MU Requirements. The individual may be any member of the hospital staff who played an instrumental role in or supported IT implementation/improvement.

2012 Outstanding HIT Partnership Award
Award recognizing an HIT/EHR consortium or a regional health information network (that consists of three or more participating healthcare facilities) that has worked collaboratively and progressively to expand their HIT infrastructure and/or services that have resulted in improved patient care for their communities.
